Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

Profile: A self motivated person who can work either individually or part of a team. Ideally with knowledge of Paper Making Machines and their associated systems. The position will be primarily office based. There will however, be periods of time required for on-site sale support visits, site surveys, installation and commisioning in the UK, North America, Europe, and Asia.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Skills may include:
  • Pneumatic Systems
  • Hydraulic Systems
  • Electrical and Instrumentation
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's)
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
  • Designing and developing new control systems
  • Maintaining and modifying existing systems
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Project management within cost and time constrained environments
  • To maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all work in formats required
  • To produce project progress reports as requested
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards of the country in which work is undertaken
  • Providing advice and consultancy support
  • Developing new business proposals
  • Accepting responsibility and accountability commensurate with the position


  • Other Duties: Specialist projects as agreed to support the business requirements of the organisation. In addition, you will be prepared to carry out any other reasonable duties requested.
